Seyi Makinde Names Abimbola Owoade as New Alaafin of Oyo After Two-Year Vacancy


Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appointed Abimbola Akeem Owoade as the new Alaafin of Oyo, a position that has been vacant for over two years.

The announcement, made on Friday through a statement from the governor’s chief press secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, brings an end to the long wait following the death of the former Alaafin, Lamidi Adeyemi, who ruled from 1970 until his passing in 2022.
